Happy Halloween!

Check out WMFE's "The Arts Connection" program on Thursdays at 8:00pm on the PBS Channel here in Seminole and Orange County! Thanks to all the nice people associated with the Arts Connection, especially Secily Wilson, for doing a segment on us and featuring my studio as scenery for intros.

A few months ago, the Seminole County Convention and Visitor's Bureau sent a movie crew to downtown Sanford, complete with camera, models, a director, the whole schlemiel. They filmed a new publicity video to be distributed nationally, showcasing the best of our fair county. They shot video of the Springs, Lake Monroe, Central Florida Zoo, etc... and me, in my natural habitat! I am right after the rock climbers...don't blink or you will miss it:

If you like bratwurst and middle-aged guys in lederhosen (and who doesn't!), Thursday, October 9 is "Oktoberfest", Historic Downtown Sanford's monthly "Alive After Five" celebration and street party. Great music, freebies, tons of art and antiques and delectable food (try the candied bacon at Two Blondes and a Shrimp)- see why they are calling this strip the "Cultural Corridor" of Seminole County.

It's cooking! Creative Sanford's "Celery Soup" is looking for volunteers, donations, and oral histories for a Sanford community play based on the 15-year-old model of "Swamp Gravy" from Colquitt, Georgia. The performance will be based on oral histories and personalities from old Sanford. Please contact Jeanine Taylor or Mary Shaw at jtfolkart@aol.com if you have something to contribute, or are interested in participating. Learn more at Sanford Celery Soup PS. If you have any interesting ghost stories or hauntings that occurred in Sanford, or thereabouts, please click here to leave me an email at cherieart@cfl.rr.com or call 407 496-9524 for transcribing. Thanks!!
